Saints in a three way tie for the division lead and are still in 3rd place because everyone but Carolina keeps beating them.

Saints control their own destiny but I don't see them winning their last 4 games.

The Saints are third place in the division after today's games.

From the NFL rulebook - https://www.nfl.com/standings/tie-breaking-procedures

Three or More Clubs

(Note: If two clubs remain tied after one-or-more clubs are eliminated during any step, tiebreaker restarts at Step 1 of two-club format. If three clubs remain tied after a fourth club is eliminated during any step, tiebreaker restarts at Step 1 of three-club format.)
  1. Head-to-head (best won-lost-tied percentage in games among the clubs). *TB/ATL are 1-1 vs. each other; NO is 0-1 vs. each. This eliminates New Orleans from the tiebreaker, and the tiebreaker essentially restarts from here.
  2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division. *TB/ATL are both 3-1 in the division.
  3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games. *they have eight common games as of now: each other, and then Carolina, Detroit, Houston, Tennessee, Minnesota, and New Orleans. Both have won vs. Carolina and New Orleans, and they split their games vs. each other. Neither team won vs. Detroit. Atlanta won vs. Houston. Tampa Bay won vs. both Tennessee and Minnesota. Tampa Bay claims this tiebreaker for first place.
  4. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference. *If Tampa Bay had not claimed the above tiebreaker, they would have this one, as they are 5-4 in conference play. Atlanta is currently 4-5 in conference play.
  5. Strength of victory in all games. *I'm not bothering with these tiebreakers any further, since it's already settled.
  6. Strength of schedule in all games.
  7. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed in all games.
  8. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed in all games.
  9. Best net points in common games.
  10. Best net points in all games.
  11. Best net touchdowns in all games.
  12. Coin toss. *I admit this would be fun to see come into play one day... just not for the Saints.
