N/S Bears FA G Teven Jenkins visits Seattle (7 Viewers)

Maybe a Risner or Hernandez or Eichenburg if we want to go young, he started 52 games in 4 yrs for MIA

Mike D said today that Saldiveri missed so much time that you could see the lack of reps hurt him. I still think that's the guy the Saints want to take over the LG spot. He just needs to stay healthy to get the reps in
What I see when Saldiveri does play is slow feet...
It might be because of his lack of playing time, he is thinking too much...
but if he doesn't move his feet better he will never be a good G in the NFL.

I can't figure out Teven Jenkins. Heading into 5th year in the league, Bears let him go, he's been paid $2M/year for 4 years, I read he's been injured alot, some randos on reddit say he's erratic and is a good run blocker but not a pass blocker.

Does he sound like a viable free agent prospect? I can understand him wanting a 3-year deal, but on the money, he seems high. He averaged 13 games per year from 2022-2024.

I don't know who his agent is, but they are doing their craft with aplomb in blowing rings of sunshine up people's butts. Suddenly (!) - this guy is a top free agent prospect at his guard position. Spotrac says (I didn't check) he's worth 3 yrs at $31M! Them agent commissions are sweet.

The vibes are just kinda weird from this dude.
He is rated well by PFF .
Other than his rookie year he has only missed a few games each year but he has never played in all 17 games in any year...

That is simply Spotrac's estimates. That does not mean that is what he is asking for or what he will get.

His asking price is 3 years $31.7 million

You are correct about what he can get.
His missed games at what he is asking has been the problem.

Do the saints even have any interest in him or he just another case of fans wishcasting?
Nobody knew we were interested in Kupp until a couple days before he signed. Still it's possible that when Lord Moore highlighted the O-line as one of our strengths he may have meant it. They may feel like they have the majority of the pieces already on the roster, just need to maximize them w/ ideal coaching.

Was that reported somewhere or just some speculation? I would think he would have a hard time getting that.

There may be no rush to update the position right now. The draft is coming and more important, there will be a second wave of free agency, with players released after being replaced by rookies with cheaper deals.

The important thing of those releases are that they won't count to the compensation pick game. Although, we are getting nothing since we only lost Adebo to an expensive contract.

Why Jenkins was released - I read that the new Bears upgraded their guards, making him expendable, and nope, the Bears did not want him as depth even.

Similar to Velus Jones, I will give him some slack for playing on the failed Matt Eberflus Bears.

Jenkins is out there shooting for the moon. He's a little too narrow on the risk/reward imo for the Saints to join his potential market. For the Saints, it would be a roll of the dice on a player whose talent level (and earning potential) was stalled by injury. As a Saints fan, I would want the Saints to care for its cap dollars and tread carefully about being open to players with injury history.

I have to wonder if Jenkins may have priced himself out of going to the Bengals and their offense, which is the plum in the market. It's just foggy to know whether his market is real or artificially created.

For years I liked Spotrac and its cleaner layout, but now I far prefer Over The Cap.

This is Jenkins' usage rate:
