I'm the sole person who put RB.

I think our defense has enough talent to survive. No matter who we draft on defense, its still going to struggle a lot. A whole lot. 1, even 3 1st round draft picks won't fix it.

On offense, we really need a franchise QB long term. But we have Carr, a couple of capable QB's in the draft this year and (what looks like so far) a load of QB's in next year's draft that look like better rounded talent.

At RB, we have a 30 year old bell cow, a young guy who can't stay health and another young guy who was a 1st round pick but struggles to get on the field. We're also a running team.

I think its fair to say as things stand now there should be (and is) considerable concern at the RB position. A good amount of concern this coming season and large amount for 2026.

Couple that with this draft having some of the best RB talent we've seen in years, from a generational talent like Jeanty, all the way back to the 2nd round we have guys like Skattebo, Hampton and Raheim Sanders... I think it's absolutely silly if we don't get one of these guys and secure the RB position for the next 4-8 years. Especially since we seem to be a run first team.

Just like we should've been drafting for franchise QB's from 2017-on and its now biting us in the butt, we should be drafting RB this year so it doesn't bite us hard later this season or the next.

Looks like I'm with the current plurality with the guard position. We're still weak in the trenches on both side of the ball and figure to remain so -- mainly because the top free agents on the o-line went somewhere else and the best d-lineman in the draft, Graham, doesn't figure to fall to 9.

TE more than any. Haven't had a really good one in 10 seasons. It's just been average players at best filling that position since prime Jimmy Graham.

WR group is decent and can be good. Health is the issue.

RB can filled in later rounds.

OL, alot of high draft picks have been spent there. Hopefully coaching and a change on offensive game calling will help.

We need a playmaker on defense, whether that's a sack guy or an interception magnet at DB.

BPA regardless of position in the first round and maybe even at #40. Then, see what you have and start looking more for positions. The idea of drafting higher salaried positions early is one I hadn’t thought of and is worth ruminating about.

Biggest need for the season or the future?

Biggest need for the season is a guard.

Biggest need for the future is a quarterback and a linebacker that will command the defence for years to come.

Qb isn’t an immediate need for ‘25…everybody will feel better if we actually win this season

Immediate need is getting younger at LB and Safety…next is bulk at WR, then lastly improving performance out of our over invested in Oline

We have 2 phases to acquire players to fill our needs. The draft and the 2nd wave of FA. If it were me I'd look to fill in the 1st 3 rds of the draft players that can contribute now and in the long term, AND positions that are high salary positions like WR, Edge,CB, OT.
Then depending on who we draft , we fill the other needs in the 2nd wave of FA. Because we all know that after the draft is when teams cut players depending on who they draft AND they come cheaper because teams have already spent most of their cap $
It looks like Mickey is holding that money for 2nd round of free agency to keep our 4th round Compensatory pick and to get some value after( like you said) everyone has spent their money on high priced free agents. Not a bad strategy.

On defense it's all about the pass rush.
