Bill Butler, former Saints FB, died. (1 Viewer)

A high school classmate of mine, Bill Butler, passed away January 23, 2018. He played FB from 1972-74.

He passed yesterday after a long battle with COPD. Bill was hoping to get a lung transplant but was denied when his heart got too week. Mary said he was planning on coming to our 50th Reunion even if it was in a wheelchair and talked highly of his high school friends. His viewing is in Manhattan, Kansas Monday, 1/29.

Yes, he played for Kansas State. I knew him at Escambia High School in Pensacola.

Sorry to hear that. We are losing more and more of our early Saints. I remember that someone had a bed sheet hanging at most of the home games that read "Bull Butler." Family or friends?

I remember Bill Butler and I was at most of the Tulane Stadium games in that era. May he rest in peace.
