I like BC.

I know the comments he made at the Rams game, but I did like him as a Saint.

I thought he played hard and represented us well.

That being said, a knock on him has always been running with the ball.

Isn’t it ironic last night it reared it’s ugly head twice.

Early on, on the 3rd/4th?? down reverse, he literally had one guy, with tons of space, to beat to gain the needed 2 yards.

It’s like he ran right into him, and attempted to jump ??? over him.

Really bizarre choice of moves considering the space he had.

Second, on the play he got injured, that was the epitome of “no feel for the defense”. That slow turn back into charging D, and he still doesn’t turn his head, everyone in the world knew what was coming even before you saw Malcolm.

Hate that he got hurt, but man did his lack of field awareness show up big last night.

Talking to several Pats friends today, they say that’s been the case all year with him.

......no ideal what your talking about....but hindsight analyst about what a player should of done once the play was over with always falls on deaf ears...and to think it has something to do with his time as a Saints is even stranger....you just isolated two plays and made a mountain out of a mole hill.

It's been the case with him since he was drafted and was ultimately why he was traded. He runs with 4.3 speed but can't beat a LB around the edge? And he's so afraid of contact he does stupid things like trying to hurdle the defender when he doesn't have to and then runs around in circles allowing himself to get knocked out of the game by Jenkins.

We expected him to be able to return kicks, run a successful end around and/or bubble screen etc but it turned out he was only good at getting any yards after the catch if he catches a bomb with no one in front of him.

I wonder if he listened to the naysayers regarding his inability to RAC or do things in space, and decided to try something different last night?

What???

It’s not hindsight analysis.

It’s showing that a major problem he had here (can’t run with the ball) showed up on his two opportunities to run last night.

Same issues, and it cost NE dearly.

Isolating two plays? Yeah, the two plays where he ran in space, which is exactly what the entire post is about.

I really don’t get what you are saying at all.

I think you meant rarely makes guys miss. great speed but really doesn't use it in traffic as a ballcarrier. more of a sprinter with great hands track guy. Cooks had a decent year and has some definate strenghts but shaking guys one on one with the ball in his hands in the pros hasn't been one of them.

I like Brandin too but the play he got hurt on should make it clear to everyone why he never became the all around threat we thought we traded up to draft.

He lacks field awareness and vision for whats going on around him. He has to know based on coverage there would be a defender in pursuit from that side. Thats why he lost punt return duties and that's why he was never effective on screens.

Last time, he cannot navigate traffic if he isn't running away from people. It's not going to improve either...that's something you either have or you don't.

Thomas has it, Kamara has it, Ginn has it and in an offense that is now more WC oriented that was going to be important - receivers that can make things happen after the catch. That was never Cooks while he was here, and isn't going to be a part of his game in the future either.

Yes, can’t make guys miss....and has no feel for the defense at all.

Exact opposite of AK.

Not to mention, those were the only two times he had the ball in his hands last night. If you can't bring up those two plays, I don't know what you're supposed to do. His inability to do anything with the ball in his hands is exactly why he only had two touches before getting his clock cleaned and sent to the showers.

Dude, you made 4 bizarrely off base comments in one post.

Did you actually read the initial post and really have “no ideal what I’m talking about”??

He has absolutely no vision for what's going on around him.

I know it petty and wrong but I really enjoyed watching Malcolm Jenkins knock him out.

As a WR, you have to know when to give up on a play. Defensive players are drooling to take a open shot at full speed.

Keep your head on a swivel.
