Bryan Bresee is game MVP (Merged) (1 Viewer)

Yeah…he was amazing today. One of the VERY few building blocks on this team
I wouldn't go.that far, there is AK, HILL, MVS, Rashid. Grandy, Carr, The O.LINE is very good. The secondary has played very solid as well as LB.

The Saints just need a very good draft. Get some UDFA gems, some good bench depth in FA.

I see far more positive than negative with Saints

He needs to play on the edge in a 3-4 type of defense, Foskey and Young as stand up edge rushers and Breese and Shepherd as 5 techs and a NT.

Ravens, Chargers, Seahawks type of defensive scheme

I've been thinking about that Harbaugh style defense you referenced in that other thread. Do you have any more details on that or maybe an article that explains the archetypes for the different positions? Based on our current personnel who would be where? I'm gonna try a few mocks to attempt to build a defense like the Harbaugh's with the 2 NTs and 2 standup DE/OLBs.

You named a 30+ year old RB, an injured 34 year old TE that may not play half the season next year, another injured WR, a pass rusher with 4.5 sacks, an aging now hurt QB. The OL continues to get zero push. They need to draft very well…for a few seasons to be a legit contender.

I’ll say this…we drop our edge guys quite a bit in his defense. Way back when Roman Harper still played he said DAs defense was more 3-4 in scheme than 4-3.

Makes you wonder why we drafted these big 4-3 DEs the last 5-6 years when guys like TJ Watt and Harold Landry were available late in drafts because they were OLBs or tweeners.

Or why we picked up a tweener who was an edge specialist and then only let him rush the passer halfway through his final season here.
