I thought Buffalo was badly outcoached yesterday, and the Bills' coaching yesterday was the worst of any team's in the playoffs. Yes, Buffalo did not get some close calls. But I did not believe how many touches Buffalo gave to running backs other than James Cook and that Cook was on the sideline on key plays, how Buffalo failed to just its pass protections against the Chiefs' pass rush, and why Buffalo repeatedly on fourth and one kept lining up Allen behind center to sneak over left guard when so many attempts had failed and that Kansas City had loaded its defense to that side of the line.

I also thought McDermott, like so many other coaches, was too aggressive going for two points after a touchdown. The problem with opting for a two-point conversion in the playoffs is that you are often trying to convert against a superior defense rather than the defense you played in week 12. And of course, on the offensive side on Buffalo's coaching staff, there are some familiar names--Joe Brady, offensive coordinator, and Aaron Kromer, offensive-line coach.

They made terrible decisions using that undersized version of the tush push on those short yardage plays. They had the lead and the ball and they needed to give Allen some space to get a head of steam or have some big bodies behind him.

I also think on the play before the “failed” 4th and short, McDermott should have challenged the spot of the third down. It was a really bad spot and even if it didn’t change anything, it would have given them a little time to prep the 4th down call. That was the game.

Indeed, it was still too early in the game to be going for two. I'm always leery of going for two before the fourth quarter in any dynamic.

Buffalo was not out coached. They went on the road, to KC, and played darn near perfect. Put up 29 points. The problem is that they once again, met up with the Chiefs, who has the ONLY elite QB in the NFL. Yes I said that a million times. They are just a product of bad timing and unfortunately playing in the same conference

29 points is two possessions > the Chiefs season average and the most points they’ve given up in the playoffs since the SB with the Eagles.

Chiefs allowed 218 passing yards a game in the regular season, Bills had 237 - so as juiced as Allen was early and as poorly as they threw the ball, they beat KC’s averages.

Chiefs allowed 101.8 rushing yards a game in the regular season, Bills had 147 rushing yards and I’m pretty sure James Cook got banged up late.

I think if you think that was a poor offensive performance, you have not watched how incredible the Chiefs defense has been this year.

It feels like this entire board is becoming a scorned lover on Joe Brady.
