NFL Draft Chase Daniel and others on Jaxson Dart (merged) (6 Viewers)

Regarding Dart, I frequently felt like he "should've done better" during the weeks as the 2024 season progressed. It felt like he had actually regressed, which is hard to figure when you have a coach in Kiffin whose adept at offense and mentoring QBs. Naturally after the season and leading up to the draft, my thinking remained that if he couldn't progress with a mentor like Kiffin, then I don't really see Moore being able to any better. It would be especially bad if we used the #9 pick to grab him.

Having said all of that, a couple weeks ago, I started looking back at Dart's 2024 season again, and I realized, I'm not really sure why I had felt like he should've done better than he did. His stats improved every year in 4 years of college and he never really had what we'd call a really bad game. The team did very well in an always loaded conference. I guess I'm saying, I'm just not sure what measuring stick I was holding him against.

Bottom line - Moore knows he has to get that pick right. Knowing what's at stake, if he truly believes enough in Dart to use our 9th pick to grab him, then I'll back it as well.

I get it. I watched Dart a lot over the last two years.

The things I noticed was the play calling was not always good. He was constantly week in and week out doing more then what was asked of him and succeeding. His offense also lacked talent. No NFL talent Oline or RB's and only really Tre Harris as a pass catcher. Numerous times, he carried the offense on his arm and legs. That's huge. Also, I realized back in January when I started researching that something I missed (or simply didn't recognize) during the season when I was watching Ole Miss was that he was constantly doing pre-snap reads and excellent post-snap reads more often then not. He didn't do that in his sophomore year hardly at all. In fact, it became his biggest asset. His football IQ and ability to dissect defenses became his biggest quality. That's why I really started beating the drum for him in January.

Dart will be the best QB out of this draft, Ward #2

Take Dart at 9 or in a slight trade back, there’s multiple people already mocking him in the 1st, Kiper has him going to the Rams at 25
That's what I think as well. Of course my QB picking record is not so great, I picked JJ McCarthy no1 over Bo Nix, no2.

Just saw this, sorry if already posted.

I was trying to find the pod with he and Dianna about Carr’s shoulder….

The draft games are in full swing. This is actually a genius move by Dan Morgan. This is going to force the saints, if they want Dart to consider trading up. Truth is, they already may have. Dart was always going to go top 10. But this could emphasize a bidding war now between Saints, Steelers, Browns, Giants etc. which could cause a team to panic to burn picks to move up. That's assuming he makes it past the Browns and Giants @2 and @3. The Jags would make a great trade partner, as the drop back would allow them to acquire picks and still land a top 3 OT.

I don't think Dart will have success with the Browns.

I only see the Jets as a possible move up. Maybe the Jags at 5. The Raiders seem hell bent on drafting Jeanty. The Jags want Mason Graham so I doubt they trade down.

The Jets could go o-line, QB, who knows. I doubt they want to draft another QB after their recent struggles.

Luckily for us the Panthers would have to trade down pretty far for a QB needy team looking to trade up. It could happen but Pittsburgh generally doesn’t trade up and there aren’t many others. Shedeur could also still be on the board and if someone trades up for Shedeur, and we take Dart then so be it.

I think most people n this board are working with outdated QB rankings from early on when the media closed the window on anyone other than Shedeur and Cam.The more I look into Shedeur the less I like his ability as a QB.

The opposite is true of Jaxson Dart. He’s a much better passer and processor than I thought. And he has successfully worked with pro concepts of full field reads such as dagger. And produced vs various defenses.

There’s a good reason that he lead the nation in big time throws. His bread and butter is actually play action out of shotgun. Last year with the eagles Hurts did not line up under center on most plays. They played out of the pistol. So the under center dynamic is not such a big deal.

I will show three pieces of media to show why Dart is worthy of pick 9 in this draft class.

1.

Dart performed better with PA and Moore can use that to the team’s advantage and improve on the non PA metrics.

2. Chase Daniels breaks down Dart vs Georgia

3. Kurt Warner breaks down Dart vs Florida

The league is much higher on Dart than media or fans.

Chase Daniel and Kurt Warner are apart of the media though. They’re sharing their assessments on any of the QBs as former players turned media analysts.

FOs share how they view the individual prospect. But they aren’t concretely or directly sharing their boards or who they’ll pick to reporters. Media word third party fluid info too absolute. Feels like, unlikely to, and surprised if are being used a lot right now.

No he will not that is the worst team he could go to. Sanders would actually fit in better with the Browns or Giants because of those divisions being more egotistical, especially the NFC East. It's really not about being elite, it's about it being your turn.
