The situations are relatively similar actually. Saints offered Chauncey a long-term deal that was reported to be annually 10-11M per year, he turned it down and created problems in the locker room leading to be traded. He didn't get a long term deal in FA and will now have to hit the market yet again coming off of an injury.

Pelicans offered DeMarcus Cousins a generous multi year contract considering he was coming off of a torn achilles, and he turned it down for basically a vet minimum contract with Golden State and then tore his ACL in the next offseason after finally recovering fully from the achilles.

Sucks for both guys, I am a fan of them both, but there are risks involved when you turn down long-term money. Chauncey is probably feeling it more, Cousins had already made a ton of money before all of that went down.

Edit: For what it's worth I don't think Chauncey is in danger of going through what Cousins did, he's still 25 and hasn't had any career threatening injuries. It's just unfortunate because he'll likely be looking at taking another 1 year deal in 2024 offseason instead of a long-term deal.

While I absolutely hate to hear that CJGJ is injured, we aren’t lacking in any way where energy is concerned. The backend is actually better than ever.

Still, I never wish injury on players. At the end of the day, football is his livelihood and he’s a real person. Prayerfully he recovers fast and is back to balling out.

THIS~~! I hate to see players like CJG hurt and not playing. I feel the same about Kwon Alexander....something about their style I like~! From the energy to the juice and play. They were both solid players for us but now? I pull for them as players as I do for Thomas Morestead ( The Legend)~! I pull for our guys who aren't playing against us at the time.....The Panthers have a few of our former players so when they are Division rivals? Not so much! Was Happy to see the "Motion" call when Dalton came in~! I had to laugh~!
