"You just don't know" was a common theme for Mora.

He is the reason I became a Saints fan--well, that and the fact I'm not a bandwagon-jumper. After the Colts left Baltimore in March 1984, I meandered through 2 NFL seasons with no team to support. After the USFL folded in 1985, Mora landed in New Orleans from the Baltimore Stars.

25 years later I'm still here. It's never been dull

I hadn't seen the Chiefs scrimmage one. The best part is how he rips his own team - when he was talking about the Chiefs player who wasn't good enough to even go to camp with the Chiefs, yet was a star player for the Saints.

I like the one where Mora is lambasting Ron Swoboda for asking if the upcoming game might be "useless" instead of asking if the team will play just as hard if there are no playoff implications.

Mora's absolute best, however, was with the Colts; the "playoffs... playoffs.. don't talk to me about playoffs. I just hope we can win a game."

That wasn't as good as Dennis Green's classic with the Arizona Cardinals "they (the Bears) are who we thought they were; so if you want to go ahead and crown them, then crown their ***; they are who we thought they were, and we let 'em off the hook." Then proceeds to slap the mike silly.

Man, 3 Saints coaches in the top ten NFL coaching rants. Boy does that bring back reminders of all the futility of being a Saints fan all those years until Payton came along. That just makes 2009 all the sweeter.
