N/S Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett requested a trade (49 Viewers)

He’s already 29 and will be 30 going into next season. Most DE’s slow up around 32.

I’m not saying no, I’m saying someone is likely going to drastically over pay in compensation for him, and it better not be us.

Now, if we can get him for like. 3rd, that would be great. But how can you afford his co tract given our current state? And is it worth it since it will likely take more 2 years to make this team competitive from a post-season standpoint, when his performance will likely start to reduce in some capacity due to age

Interesting story, but no chance he ends up here. He wants to win a Super Bowl before he retires and the Saints are not going to do that.
Not only that, how would they pay him? Granted there are always ways to get a guy into a team but it’s a trade off elsehwere in the roster.

But then again the way the Saints manage the roster (not saying you) “is no big deal, as the cap slays goes up.”

Sure, it does but this is a partial example of the Saints not being in it due to the way they manage the cap, regardless of whether or not he would go to the Saints.

Rest easy. He ain’t coming to New Orleans.

Olave for Garrett.

I doubt we'd be in on that trade with the roster revamp that needs to occur. Unless we go young on O and veterans on D until we can revamp the D.
