The Path to Saints SB This Year

Rams and Cowgirls
: 6-0
Texans and Hawks: 4-0, expect the one loss each to Saints

Games Brees Played: 1.25
Games Bridgewater Played: 1.75

So, no opponent we have played has lost a game in the 1st 3 games of the season, except to us. After the mugging loss to his exhausted Saints team last year to the Cowboys and the biggest factor now in place, our QB who has not led a playoff-caliber win in 3-years just led a massive victory in the toughest road venue in the league now has both his own confidence and the confidence of the entire team, the Saint will be 3-1 after the 1st quarter of the year.

How many of us thought we would be 3-1 having to face this schedule without Brees the better part of 3 of those games. We are now seeing the depth of the Saints, the number of real stars we have and how great a coach Sean Payton truly is.

Do many of you still doubt that we can win the SB this year? Do many Who Dats think we should be a favorite to win the SB this year?

All we need to do is get to the playoffs. With the loss of Drew, I'm less convinced of an entire sweep of our division opponents; but I think we are lucking out by the NFC South being full of general suckitude.

Some of us were trying to buck ourselves up by imagining us overcoming this adversity. And now that we actually did beat Seattle, I'm counting on Sean Payton to be our Apollo 13 Gene Kranz. "I believe this is going to be our finest hour."

Seahawks and Cowboys were the toughest games of the ones without Drew

I thought we’d be in great shape if we took one of the two

If we take them both?

Watch out!

5-3 at the bye feels achievable. Anything above that would be huge.

Even 4-4 and we would be fine.

We beat dallas this week and I'll start believing we can run the table.

One game at a time, but the Seattle win on the road without Drew was a huge one. Dallas is going to be a tough out, even at home, but this team clearly is believing in itself and realizes that every group has to contribute to achieve a win. On Sunday with a vocal home crowd supporting us I believe this team can beat the Cowgirls. To win it will take another complete performance by the offense, defense and special teams.

Combined record of teams played so far: 10-2 (9-0 not counting games against us)
Remaining teams on schedule with winning records so far: Cowboys (3-0 week 4), 49ers (3-0, week 14), Colts (2-1, week 15)
Combined record of remaining teams on schedule: 17-20-1
Combined record of remaining teams on schedule not counting Cowboys, 49ers, Colts: 9-20-1

NFC Strength of Schedule -- Hardest SoS played so far, 2nd easiest remaining

Indeed. If we beat Dallas, home field advantage throughout is definitely a possibility. It's amazing that the 3 teams we've played so far haven't lost a game except to us. That said, even if we beat Dallas, we can't take anything for granted. Even the bad teams can jump up and bite you, save Miami, lol. If we beat Dallas, I think 13-3 would be very doable, especially if our defense and special teams continue to improve. The offense will be fine. There will be some hiccups with Teddy behind center, but if he just plays within himself and is a good game manager, I'm not worried.

So, the first four games on our schedule we're playing undefeated teams.

I think if we stay in contention until Brees gets back we will actually be a better team than we were before we lost him. Yesterday showed that the rest of the team are good enough to win without him. This will bring confidence to them. Add Brees back in and a team that was already considered a contender becomes even more dangerous.

The first 4 games of the season were a gauntlet. If you told me we'd go 2-2, I would've taken it because it's all downhill from there. The rest of the schedule is very manageable. Or as manageable as a NFL schedule can be.

The Cowboys are going to be a tough out but hey, so were the Seahawks. And we just went into their house and dominated them. Honestly would anyone be shocked if we beat the Cowboys at home?

The Saints are the underdog but they aren't your typical underdog. This dog has teeth.
