The Saints had just one player on the first team Associated Press All-Pro team --- special teams ace J.T. Gray.

Gray was a 2nd team AP All-Pro selection in 2019, but this is his first time as a first team selection.

Making the All-Pro team, especially the first team, is a much more prestigious honor than making the Pro Bowl, so great job, J.T.!!!

Remember during his rookie year when the fanbase kept wondering who he was and wondered how and why we kept him on the roster while cutting players who a lot of us felt could have actually been contributors week after week? Oh good times. :hihi:

Remember when he was a rookie and everyone was baffled/angry when he kept surviving successive cuts after training camp even as camp favorites/draft picks were cut? And we were all..."Why are we keeping this guy over [nsert player here]?"

Yeah. He made us eat our words.

Well the team neglected special teams for 10 years... So, we had no concept of dedicated Special team guys. We thought he was a safety lol.

2016 was a blessing. We been a top ten SP unit since then.

Lol I knew who he was from watching him at Miss. State and knew he was a baller.

He also got a bit of playing time this year at safety too. I think a lot of folks missed that

Proud of my fellow Bulldog!! Way to go JT!!!

Tough to find a dedicated special teams gunner these days. Most guys take ST work as a demotion. It’s what makes Gray’s excellence what it is.
It's funny, because it felt like Saints made that a trend.
