Another one of nfl.com's rankings around the league. Pretty horrendous if you ask me considering they don't have either greer or porter on the list of top 30.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000...s-top-list-of-nfls-best-corners?module=HP_cp2

GROUP A
1. Nnamdi Asomugha, Raiders (>): As a Pro Bowl free agent, Asomughga stands to earn even more after being the highest-paid cornerback last season. Opposing teams threw at him less than three times per game last season. He is a lock-down corner who may never have big numbers, with only has three interceptions in the last four seasons.

2. Champ Bailey, Broncos (v): Bailey is starting to slip, and might have actually slipped from the top group. But the 2010 Pro Bowl selection still has a presence on the field. He is one of the best corners in the league at limiting receivers after the catch.

Asomugha or Revis?
How much separation exists between Nnamdi Asomugha and Darrelle Revis, considered the NFL’s best corner? Kurt Warner sees a difference that sets Revis apart. More ...

3. Darrelle Revis, Jets (^): Revis lines up in man-to-man coverage and the Jets blitz often, daring teams to throw his way. He is usually targeted 3-4 times per game, and consistently shuts down the best receivers in the NFL. He didn't have an interception in 2010 after having 11 during the previous two seasons, but was named All-Pro for the second straight season.

4. Asante Samuel, Eagles (>): Samuel is an excellent zone corner who baits quarterbacks into throwing his way and makes them pay. His seven interceptions at 10.0 yards per return tell the story, even though he saw less than 40 passes come his way all season. It's difficult to deny his 36 interceptions over the last five seasons.

5. Charles Woodson, Packers (v): Woodson is a Hall of Fame cornerback who took his game to another level playing in Dom Capers' zone-blitz defense. Woodson moves inside over the slot receiver against three-receiver packages and is an absolute terror as a blitzer. He had five forced fumbles last season, tied for the most among corners.

:idunno:no Greer at all on the list...

Sounds good to me. We know what we have. If other teams are assuming we have average cornerbacks, all the better. Besides, a cornerback is only as good as his defensive line...

I know thats how the saying goes but to me it means a whole lot that greer has been able to do what he has been with the average d-line we've had

Plus, Greer was hurt a lot of last season. Jabari Greer is a good cover corner (when he is able to raise his arms above his head); Tracy Porter is not a good cover corner, but is certainly more than adequate on the other side; P Rob is still a relatively unknown quantity at this time, and who knows about Johnny Patrick yet.

If Greer is not top-30 that list has zero credibility...in the actual statistical rankings for CB's the last few years Greer has been top-5...

Porter is clutch too, so...yeah...not interested..

GROUP B

REALLY?(JMO)He was Anything but good in Houston...one year with the falcons gets him this rating?:jpshakehead:

8. Dunta Robinson, Falcons (>): The Texans should have never let Robinson go considering they face Peyton Manning twice each season, and their loss was the Falcons' gain. Teams threw at Robinson more than 90 times and he only surrendered three touchdowns. He only had one interception in 2010 and has missed 13 games during the last four years, so holding down a top spot will be tough in 2011.

Two things about Robinson.

He was 27th in targets last season, allowed 13.3 yards per, and the offense was successful 52% of the time throwing at him.

The second thing, and in my opinion the funniest thing, Robinson would always play the opponents #2 receiver. You pay him that type of money, but won't let him cover the teams #1 receiver, what does that say?

Its a joke of a list if Robinson / Finnegan make the 2nd group & Greer / Porter dont feature at all

The more notoriety they get the harder it will be to resign them. I hope they dont talk about them much until we make another superbowl run then they can talk about how good everbody is on the Saints. As of right now I think everbody thinks it was Drew and a team effort in 2009. That is why we basically went into last year with the same team intact.

I can understand Porter not making the list. But no Greer? At all? Not even in Group F?
