In the overall scope of the fan base, I'd say it was just the opposite. tOSU fans were surrounded by Tiger fans. I think there were enough LSU fans to get their backs.

I wouldn't say holding up a newspaper that says "No. 1" is the same as the way some Saints fans were treated in Chicago.

I would hope that the LSU fans would "seek a higher level", but without being there for the whole game, I really can't say what they did was out of line. As noted earlier, the OSU fans may have been really giving it to them at 10-0. If you give it, you better be able to take it.

A) I'd be willing to bet good money that those OSU fans did their share of similar things before the game and when up 10-0

B)Holding up a newspaper that says your team is No.1 is not quite as bad as the Katrina signs, throwing snows, drinks, etc.. That's like comparing the Abu Ghraib underwear thing to beheading someone... not even in the same ballpark.

Some how I don't see spirited trash talking and pointing to a newspaper showing that your the champs along the same lines as making signs that say "finishing what hurricane Katrina started" or saying things like "more of you should have died". Call me crazy.
