February 20th, 1979, I remember it like it was yesterday. It was your regular winter night in Iowa –winds and freezing cold, but no snow. I was supposed to work until close, although we didn’t have any flights scheduled.
Around 1am, I received radio message from a small Cesna about 30 miles from the airport. They were having really bad snow storm up in Omaha and needed to land here in Atlantic. I guess being open late was justified, after all. I got my binoculars out, verified the visibility and started guiding the aircraft. Though it was really windy out there, they managed to touch down. I looked through the binoculars to verify the landing went ok, and that’s when I saw her for the first time.

I was an Air Traffic Controller at Atlantic Municipal Airport, Iowa for 27 years.

That was creepy as hell. Very cool.

He presents it as being transcribed from a story told by his uncle - but I think it's pure fiction, that backstory just gives it faux reality (sort of like the backstory of Blair Witch). But it does indeed make it creepier.

Yes, it appears Milos Bogetic Inaaace is a horror writer and regular contributor to No Sleep, and won the Scariest Story of the Year (2014) on there. Still pretty cool.

was thinking the same thing. I am not familiar with that sub (or any redit except gifs and jpegs)

At one point he says he is having trouble describing her voice b/c he isn't a writer. BS, and a good one. If it were a novel it would sell. Thanks watt!

What the hell happened in the spring?

So what did she tell the first pilot? Why did she want the narrator to come outside? Why could she break the outside door down in the second episode but couldn't or didn't open the bathroom door in the first?

I just read it.
Just read it.
Like after midnight just read it.
Need to go change my pajama pants. :covri:
