I was listening to this episode of the podcast w the Honey Badger, and he confirms what many of us had already assumed (starting around the 17:30 mark), and the 2-0 start and the way our boys are fighting for each other just proves it. These guys aren’t just playing for the city, they’re playing for each other, and the results show it.

He goes into some detail about how that month the team was together really solidified their camaraderie and the importance of having this team first mindset as it relates to success. For anyone who’s played team sports, you know that there’s a difference between having teammates and having a brotherhood on a team.

Gotta love the direction the team is heading in regardless of the result of this upcoming game vs Philly. It’s gonna be a long season and now everyone will be gunning for us, but hearing this conversation just gave me even more hope for how this season will unfold.

WHO DAT!!!

Its kind of similar to Basic Training and field Training, your away from all distractions. The only thing that matters are the task at hand your brothers.

Question is if we continue to have a great year, will they go back next year? This year was just supposed to be because of the cafeteria construction.

Yep. DA didn't have a choice but to have camp away from Metairie, but he obviously did a good job of organizing things and the organization picked a good place. Assuming the season continues to go like it is, I would expect them to go away for camp in the future. It makes so much sense for all the reasons mentioned. The downside is fans don't get to see camp, but with all the coverage by the media these days it's almost better than being thair and I'll sacrifice being a training camp for wins any day.

It's hard to imagine with the investments made to the facilities that we will intentionally go out of town for camp in the future, but at the very least I think traveling for a week of practice against another team helps simulate some of that.

As long as nobody wanders around confused in the middle of the streets.

TM has always been one of my favorite players. It's so easy to like his story. He was a 3 star borderline SEC recruit. LSU saw something in him early and he quickly became one of the most dynamic defensive backs I've seen at any level. Then the heartbreak at LSU, the injuries, then coming back and using them for growth.

Last year he looked so old and slow early in the season. He was taking bad angles, missing tackles and just looked like a shell of his former self. He started getting it back towards the end of the year but still looked old and slow. I saw another interview with him in the offseason and he was talking about how he wasn't being his best self on the field and how he was going to improve. It looks like he lost weight in the offseason and has rededicated himself. He may not have the same athletic ability he had when he came into the league but he doesn't look old and washed up this season. His anticipation has always been on another level so it is refreshing to see.

On the sack fumble in the Dallas game he came all the way from the corner of the endzone and almost had a shot at recovering the fumble. You could see how pissed he was that he wasn't able to get there after max effort and it told me everything I needed to know about his mindset this season.

I think if we continue to play like we started, and the season ends in success, making the move permanent will be a thing worth considering.
