So for a long time I've been using my iPod touch at the gym to stream music to my wireless headphones (AirPods). I love the AirPods but it's no fun having to carry around an iPod in my pocket or having to worry about forgetting it when I'm at the gym. I've figured that the perfect solution would be streaming music from a smartwatch to my headphones.
The Apple watches of course stream music wirelessly, but you're going to pay $300+ at least for the waterproof edition and it only streams Apple Music. I have Spotify and am not interested in that, so I had to find another option.
Well, a decent bit less expensive is the first known smartwatch to store offline Spotify playlists--the Samsung Gear Fit 2 Pro. It has all bells and whistles--color touchscreen, gps, heart rate monitor, water resistance, etc. Best Buy is now offering a deal where if you buy the watch for 199.00 you get Samsung's U Flex headphones ($70) thrown in for free. I'm going to trade in my (newest and last gen) iPod touch to see if I can get the watch for 50-75 bucks.
Just thought all you workout junkies like me might be interested in this. It's crazy how none of the other cheaper android smartwatches can run Spotify on Android wear software. Just google trying to promote Google Music I suppose.
