Defense doesn't let you get to 21, Offense can't get to 21. (1 Viewer)

Been saying it. Has to be so much pressure knowing you’ve got to be perfect. This is not on the defense. At all. I feel bad for them just as I spent a decade feeling bad for the offense when Drew and Sean were clicking.
it's crazy how things even out. for years we could only imagine what it would be like to have a shutdown defense. Now that we do, we have a mediocre offense.

Yep. For my fan hood it takes me back to the Dome Patrol. I’d like to have it all for awhile…or at least a decent o and d at the same time lol. I know that’s asking a lot tho.

Fun fact: The Chicago Bears offense scores about the same amount of points per game than the Saints do.

Look at the Bears offensive roster, look at the Saints roster, then figure out what the heck the Saints offensive coaching staff is doing. The level of incompetence is staggering.

Honest question, is their o line terrible too? I’m no apologist for this staff but the line is terrible and I don’t think it’s all coaching.

The tackles are considered serviceable. The guards and center are rated bad to terrible.

It’s their offensive line. We have history to suggest McCoy and Ramczyk are very good, and last season Ruiz was improving. This season the entire line is a dumpster fire. Coaching somewhere is failing.

11 games in a row of not allowing opponents to score more than 20.

Record during that streak: 6-5

Shame on the offense. Record should be no worse that 10-1 or 9-2.

Unfortunately nothing will change during the season but changes have to be made for next year.

The defensive players should not have to feel they should not allow a TD at all for us to have a chance to win. You know how inept the offense has to be for the defensive players to think this way.

Similar to the Broncos last year, except they had a worse record. They were only an offensive coach away. Or so they thought.

We did in 2009
FWIW that defense was opportunistic and created a lot of turnovers. They also gave up a lot of yards and points. They were ranked 20th in points allowed and 25th by yards allowed (26th passing, 21th rushing). We were 2nd in takeaways which is an extremely difficult stat to rank high in without a little bit of luck.

In no way was that a top 10 defense. It was mid at best. They were good for a high scoring offense though. We put them on the field a lot.

This current offense is an extension of the defense. Right now that has proven to be a .500 ball tactic.

Upon hearing that Joe Kane (Derek Carr) won't be playing for an undetermined number of games:
