Dennis Allen is teetering on the brink of worst record of all-time for head coaches with more than 75 games coached (4 Viewers)

Yep, I’d take all of those coaches over DA right now.

Mickey Loomis on keeping HC Dennis Allen:

“Chuck Noll his first three years: 1-13, 5-9, 6-8. They recognized he's a good football coach. Bill Belichick, his first three years: 6-10, 7-9, 7-9. Tom Landry: 0-11, 4-9, 5-8, 4-10, 5-8. All of them Hall of Fame coaches. The easy thing is to blame them.”

Don't worry guys. We have a future Hall of Famer in the building.

If DA loses the last 11 games of this season, he will be slightly below .300, which would put him at the bottom of the all-time NFL worst coaching records list above (75 starts min), sub-Bugel and sub-Marion.

*Currently 26-50. Falling to 26-61 --> .299 "winning" percentage.

At a minimal, he’s already the worst over the past couple of decades at least.

of the four coaches listed by name above to compare with Allen, only Romeo Crennel is alive, and his record is /now/ better than Allen’s.

The three deceased coaches’ careers started before the salary cap era of parity began, unlike Crennel and Allen, whose “winning” percentage is below Crennel’s. So to some extent it is unfair to the deceased coaches to compare them with Allen, since they coached in an era where the Niners and Cowboys had 2X the payroll of some other teams.
