Derek Carr posts Rolls Royce review video while absent during Saints offseason workouts ; Carr has no sling on, repeatedly moves shoulder (3 Viewers)

How Sway. :D The team has been doing it's nonchalant best to give the impression that QB is not a need, and then you leak this stuff. I couldn't care less about his arm or whether he's trolling. Take the money and shut up or redo the deal so we can trade you.

The Saints have been linked to drafting a QB early for weeks. It’s also been speculated on that Carr was likely in his final season here. No revelations there.

This gives reporters some drama and a new sense of urgency to talk about, but I’m not sure anything has really changed.

Perceptions have changed, as even the betting lines demonstrate that. We don't know if they are planning to take Sanders or Dart at nine, but I think they were trying to give the impression that it wasn't a need at nine. The Carr injury report does make it seem (in terms of perception) like a need at nine, you disagree? The logic around whether a team will pick a QB is primarily based on whether there is an incumbent starter; that's why a lot of observers do not expect the Giants to select a QB and why folks were shocked last year when Atlanta selected Penix.

I don’t put much into any of that. The Giants, for instance, aren’t rolling long term with Wilson and Winston so they need a QB to develop. If they don’t take one that early, I think it’s more so because they don’t have that value on a guy vs not having a need.

Betting lines measure observer expectations, not front office intentions.

I already don’t think Carr was seen as the answer for the team anymore, and so like the Giants, I think it will come down to how much value they have on prospects when they are selecting. If they feel good about a QB at 9, I’d expect that to be the pick. If they like somebody at 40 and think he’ll be there, maybe they go that route. Rattler is something of a wildcard to the process, but I think they’ll want to bring in a rookie out of this draft, and I don’t think anything happening with Carr changes that approach significantly.

Right, that’s what I’m saying. I believe he’s injured but the way he’s handled it is just to shove a big middle finger up to the saints
Exactly.
It’s his MO. Same way he left the Raiders.

It’s 💯 immaterial when this video was made, the fact that he dropped it now is masterful trolling. It’s a huge F U to Mickey, the Saints and the fans.
Thing is, for me at least, I’m as happy that he’s never going to be the Saints QB again as he is happy that he just bought his 3rd Rolls Royce. Life is good.

Well played Derek, well played lol. 😂

I emphasized perceptions because teams will make trades based on whether they think another team may value a particular player. Granted, this is lying season so most teams are involved in some type of misdirection. The team did not want this information out there in my opinion.

I’m not disagreeing with that, but I also don’t think it moves the needle as much as some others do. It’s been the general understanding for awhile that the Saints were very likely searching for Carr’s replacement and ideally, would want to start that process this season. They’ve been linked to Ward, Sanders, Dart, Shough, and Ewers in different scenarios, long before anything came up about Carr’s shoulder. About the only way I wouldn’t see them taking a QB early is if they like Rattler a lot more than is known, but I wouldn’t expect them to put that kind of faith in him at this point.
