Does anyone feel that Drew might return for a 2021 run? (1 Viewer)

Maybe I'm just not ready for his career to end, but it just feels strange right now as I imagine that I am watching his final games as our starting quarterback.
I know that a lot of folks have expressed a desire to see him hang up his cleats, and I understand the reasons why. But there is a part of me that just isn't ready for that unless Drew has completely lost his ability & desire to do the job. However, I still see a lot of fire in his demeanor and I'm not convinced that he can't get the job done in 2021.

Frankly, I'll be happy if he can ride off into the sunset with the Lombardi this year. But if we fall short this year, I wouldn't cry to see him come back for one more shot.

I thought so before the injury. Those injuries have be getting old. I think how the season ends still is part of it. If we in it all, I think he is done.I think if we fizzle out in round1 he is done also. If we get close, I think it will be hard for him to walk away.

I think there is a 0.01% chance he is coming back. And yes, queue up the, "So you're saying there's a chance" memes....

I think if it was 100% certain that there would be full crowds in 2021 - he might consider one final run.

But honestly I think he’s ready to be done. I think he’s ready to hang it up and be with his kids and in a booth on Sundays (or Mondays).

Except that it has been 'close' the past several years. And by 'close' I mean, 'close' in only a fashion that the Saints can do. If it happens again this season I think it is even more reason for him to walk away. I can't imagine how much those losses have eaten at him in the offseason.

I think he is much closer than ever before at not returning. He actually decided to retire last year but after 2 weeks reconsidered. I think in his mind he is done, but can still be changed.

Depends on how we finish the season and how many of the players on the current roster we retain combined with draft and FA signings. If it looks promising, he may seriously consider one more year.

I think everyone on the team was told when he came back that this would be his last year. I think they've planned their roster for that, and it's done in everyone's mind.

Do I think he could possibly have second thoughts and reconsider? Yes, but still unlikely. Do I think Loomis and Payton could/would make it happen? I think that's less likely.

No. I think this it. I would have liked for him to have announced his retirement after this season, not so much to see him go, but for him to kind of have the other teams salute him. Let us cheer him as this being his last. I'll certainly miss him, but I believe this is it.

I think your line above has a lot to do with how I'm feeling. To me Drew seems to be getting robbed of the fanfare he has earned before this adoring fans. So many of us wanted to be part of his final curtain call that it just seems wrong that he doesn't get to bow out without a roaring Superdome of fans to send him off to his retirement years from the game.

It's so wrong.
