If you had to pick one, would you prefer to watch the Saints have a dominant defense with a average at best offense (like we had in the 90's with the Dome Patrol) or the dominant offense with a average at best defense (How it is right now)? I was alittle too young to real watch and appreciate the dominant defense that we had back with the Dome Patrol but I do love watching our offense going up and down the field at will right now. The general vibe I get from the fans at this forum is the dominant defense is preferred.

I say offense. That way when you're soaking up the losses, it's much more entertaining to watch.

We're talking wants.

I'm not settling for anything less than dominance on both sides.

I'm with you on that! However, I did say "If you had to choose".

Or an above average offense and above average defense. Nothing dominant though...

The one that wins us a Superbowl. Our offense may be the greatest show on turf right now but defenses are winning championships.

Only thing with the great offense is that you always feel like your in the game even if your down 2-3 TD. With a no offense, if you get down even by 10, you almost feel like you have no shot. However, your hardly over down by that much though.

We've had both in the past 20 years. We've gone the furthest with a dominant offense.

In today's NFL in the regular season defense is paramount. In the playoffs you have to put points on the board, and usually a lot. Warren Sapp said it the best; Defense gives you a CHANCE to win championships, but you still need a competent offense.

I have a dream, that one day we will have both a dominating O with a dominating D in the same dang year!!!!!!!!!

People want defense whilst not wanting to take a hit on offense. Balance is the optimum but I'd take offense. The Washington Redskins finished 4th in yards and 6th in scoring on defense. I think we're a lot closer to a Championship than the Redskins. We have the number 1 commodity possible in the NFL; an elite QB in Drew Brees. We've done a great job adding key pieces with Sedrick Ellis, Jonathan Vilma, Tracy Porter and Malcolm Jenkins in the last 2 years. These should pay off with Gregg Williams at the helm. Anyone doubts how important a defensive co-ordinator is? Just look at the difference between Ted Cotrell's San Diego defense and Ron Rivera's. Also the difference between Tampa Bay's defense before Monte Kiffin handed in his resignation and after

If the question was which would you rather watch win a Superbowl, A dominant offense and an average defense, or a dominant defense with an average offense, I'll take the Offense. Its more fun to watch.

If the question is which one do I think is more likely to win a Superbowl, I'd say dominant defense.

Of course, we had a dominant defense and an average offense for about a decade and didn't even win one single playoff game.

We've had a dominant offense and a flat horrid defense for 3 years and we made it to the NFCCG, so what do I know?

Dominant offense and decent/good defense..Like we are about to have.

It will be entertaining and we will win. I'd rather win like that than win with Defense..having to watch the D do all the work while the offense struggles to move the ball..talk about BORING.

If you have a good special teams I would go with a dominant defense. If not, it would have to be a dominant offense.

Well in 2006, the defense was ranked #3 against the pass and #11 overall.
