I was shocked to hear this. Didn't know he had ALS. Brutal disease. 61 years old is too young.

I was a huge Cowboys fan, back then. Always loved my Saints, but as we remember, they weren't winning too many games back then. I cried like a baby when he made that catch to beat the Cowboys. This was tough to admit...

Indeed, I actually was a Cowboys fan when I was a kid, up until Landry was shown the door. Hated them ever since.

Saw this yesterday evening and had to feel sad, despite this being an old division rival. A family friend lost his wife about a year ago to the disease. It's unforgiving and goes to show how truly miraculous it is that Steve Gleason has lived seven years with it. And Steven Hawking lived decades with it.

On a side note, DaveXA you sound like me. I grew up as a Dolphins fan until they showed Marino and Shula the door. (I am always a Saints fan but Dolphins/Oilers as well).

so sad RIP I will pray for his family. My father has Mesothelioma and i know his number will eventually come. I'm not sure how i'm going to deal with that. Can only imagine how his family feels.
