Emmanuel Sanders: "If I had to pick, Drew Brees (will) retire" + light pitch to Watson (2 Viewers)

It's interesting to hear what he said. I doubt we can get Watson here without losing a lot. Yeah, Watson chooses where he wants to get traded, but if the other team has nothing to offer or in our situation, salary cap madness and very few draft picks. Kamara and MT just signed big contracts as well as Watson.

We need a TE, CB, LT, and a QB. The easiest in my opinion is to get Winston to take a team friendly deal, but not low ball him either. Winston is around 25 years old and has a great arm. CSP can work on his decision making skills to improve his throwing and the team can focus on our other needs.

Loomis has a lot to figure out with the salary cap and it's going to get harder every year that you push more down the road. Not saying it's impossible, but at some point, it will cost us. Until the salary cap is manageable and you've got to wait until June if anything to take away a good chunk from Brees salary cap hit; how do you expect a big name QB to come here? Stranger things have happened, but why would someone come here knowing how much we always push our salary cap to the limit?

I'm just being a realist, but if you know you can get PAID on another team, that is what draws all the players. Agents push the players to get the most they can get, not what their current team can afford. This gets the players out of their current team or stuck with them and when things go sour, they demand trades like in Watson's case. No matter who picks up another player, there will still be dead money that could have been used to get someone worth that money. Instead, teams eat that money and it leads the team to underperform in those areas.

Just watched that. He’s in the same boat as all of us, whether Drew will retire or not. I personally feel like he will call it a career.

Ive heard some reports bout Carolina being interested in Watson. If Watson goes to the NFC he will be the best QB in the conference and be better than a Rodgers, Brady who are on their downside and Russell who seems to have plataeud.

If Carolina ends up getting Watson the Saints could very well be playing for second place in the NFC South for a long time. If N.O has to trade a bevy of draft picks, plus some players or let some go to make caproom for Watson that is what they need to do. In two years through draft and offseason rebuild N.O should be a very good team again, competing for the upper playoff seeds in the NFC for years to come.

One thing for certain is that N.O can have a very good roster, but it will never get anywhere if it doesnt have the right QB. Having Watson even through a reshaping of the roster will make the Saints a playoff contender. Once the reimagining of the roster is complete lookout NFC.

Agreed. Jamies and hill, even if they are good cannot win a ring

Come back drew. These guys don’t know how hard it is to win 12 gms a year. Improve the de even more and get a healthy brees
A healthy Brees is a shell of himself. Plus, if his wife was honest about playing with a torn rotator cuff, then his health is definitely in more question than it was last year. Honestly, it was brutal watching the dink and dunk offense throughout the season. 1.) bc our offense can be so much more. 2.) we know how things will end. 3.) it’s just plain sad to see Drew play like that

I dont even think Brees can stay healthy anymore. He might heal from his injuries but with a questionable rotator cuff at his age i dont see how he can overcome that hurdle. We all saw that Big Ben who suffered a turn rotator in 2019 wasn't the same QB in the second half of the 20 season. His arm strength seemed sapped.

Love him. I hope we can figure out a way to bring him back next year. Just shows that players know what Drew Brees brings.... With him at QB, the Saints have been 1 of the teams in the discussion year in year out.... If you're one of those teams, you still need some luck and good fortune to turn that into a Super Bowl win, but without it, there's no hope...

Brees was not the reason we won so many games. This team was stacked. I don't think we give Sean Payton enough credit. Drew was not a hall of famer with the chargers
