Sorry if already posted. Looked and didn'tsee it.

"Injuries didn't slow Erik McCoy: While the Saints‘ center played in only nine games, his run-blocking dominance held steady and made him the NFL's highest-graded center."

That is awesome but didn’t injuries indeed slow him if he missed half the season?

Also, not a fan of PFF grades. But I do believe McCoy is one of the best centers in the league and one of the best players on the Saints. We don't have many blue-chip (or even red-chip) players. McCoy is a blue chip.

He is starting to miss way to many games...
It doesn't matter what rating PFF gives you if you aren't on the field.
Since 2021 he has missed 17 games...

A more detailed and complete way of looking at it is he missed:

5 games in 2021
4 games in 2022
0 games in 2023
10 games in 2024

I don't see a trend at all and the amount of games he missed in 2024 is an extreme outlier at the moment.

No matter how to look at it, he has miss multiple games 3 out of the last 4 years...
That is called a trend.

A trend is a steady overall pattern of increase or decrease. He missed 5, then dropped down to 4, then dropped down to 0, then jumped up to 10. There's no steady pattern of increase or decrease in that.

If his last four years has a pattern to it, then he should miss 5 or less games next year and then less games than that in 2 years and no games in 3 years. I see that as manageable and not that unusual in today's NFL.

Regardless of PFF scores EM is a top 5-6 OC. And people say our whole OL went to crap when he went down, there's a reason why
Like I said in another thread, it's not just his individual play or calling the protections that makes him a Top 5 Center in the league. He's the OL coach on the field. He makes them gel as a unit and he holds them accountable.

McCoy is elite for sure, with the caveat being, when available. Hopefully he’s healthy and available for the whole season in 25.
