Exactly! That was my understanding and I never understood why they basically forced a guy into a job that he didn't want; that he clearly wasn't suited for; and that forced us to stay stagnant for two years.

If Pete had been fired when it was apparent that his system wasn’t gonna work (and when it was clear he couldn’t/wouldn’t adapt), then we likely don’t end up with Kubiak. Theoretically I guess we still could have- but even if we did, I think that full season under Shanahan was probably very beneficial for KK, so who knows how it would have gone.

I cant help but wonder if he held back the Saints offense in Drews final years. Yes Drew was an offensive wiz, but i think another Brain would of helped greatly
