The New Orleans Saints offseason has arrived early with them failing to make the postseason yet again. They finished with a 5-12 record and have little direction for the immediate future of the franchise.
This offseason, they will be dealing with the potential culmination of their cap space woes and won’t be able to compete to add much talent to the roster in free agency because of that. That could limit them in the search for a new head coach, with them looking like a bottom open job in the NFL.
Already, the Saints are in last place for 2025 cap space at more than $50 million. Only four teams overall are in the red, emphasizing how much an issue money is right now for New Orleans.
The Saints have 21 pending free agents to deal with, leaving plenty of holes in the roster to fill with their limited resources.
Many people expect 2025 to be the beginning of a longterm rebuild which means there will be some growing pains. Before that, though, they have to navigate the offseason.
