It is no secret that the Saints need an upgrade in the front 7 of our defense. Our pass rush is basically non-existent, and we have a major problem stopping the run.

Fairley, from Auburn is a stud. However, is it a lock that he will go in the top 10?

Sedrick Ellis gets better every year, but he needs help.

I think it would be a great thing to make a trade to move up in the draft and get this guy. Yes, he is a dirty player, but that can be coached out of him. He would demand double teams which would open up our ends because Ellis also demands double teams. This would improve our pass rush tremendously.

The other option I see available would be another DT in Jerell Powe. He is a disruptive force on the line. Not quite as good as Fairley, but not far off. He had no help on the D-line at Ole Miss this year after Lockett was lost for the season. Yet, he still got double teamed all year.

Yes, he would help Ellis out quite a bit.

Yes, I think he can be coached out of being a dirty player at times.

Yes, MAKE IT HAPPEN LOOMIS.

Powe is good, but where is he projected to go?

Fairley is the only thing i like about auburn he is a beast and would look great in the black an gold we could build the d around him and ellis. The saints d backs looked horrible this year because of no rush its not like tracey jabari and roman all of a sudden forgot how to play.

Fairley is dirty, but I think it's a result of his playing style. He has a high motor. I think proper coaching can refine his skills and he could be a fine addition to our d-line.

With Luck returning to school, Fairley will go in the top 2. His NC gm really helped out a lot. We have no chance at him.

The secondary is excellent, including Harper. However, no DB, including Darelle Reevis can cover for more than 4 seconds. The pass rush is what is killing this defense. The only way we can get pressure is by the blitz. We need someone to help out in this area.

Exactly, no WAY Fairley drops all the way to us at 24, good thing there is a ton of D-linemen with 1st round talent this year.

At one point during the NC game, one of the announcers said something like, "Nick Fairley, meet the Carolina Panthers" (who have the #1 pick). Don't know that he'll go that high but definitely out of our range barring a major trade.

I do not see him sliding past the Bills at #3. I do not see a chance at him even with a trade up.

The good news is we should have a nice selection of DE/OLBer to pick from if we stay where we are in the draft.
