So the first shot has been fired in the death of society:

What happened to the good ol' Victorian era vampire? You know, the one that was evil and would kill you? It was all veiled sexuality in Dracula, with all the penetrating flesh and body fluid exchange, the taboo and forbidden. Even in Anne Rice, Lestat was a spoiled ******* who would either kill you or turn you against your will. What makes those kinds of vampires sexy is that you really should not think they are. They're bad. They will hurt you. You shouldn't go near them, let alone kiss them.

Today's vampires...scary? Sexy? I am not the least bit interested in a vampire that I can bond with while we get our hair highlighted.

The pussification of vampires continues, and it's damned sad.

jacked that idea from Forgetting Sarah Marshall, but didnt even do it right. just watch this and maybe Mila Kunis will make it a little bit better.

How about the struggles of avoiding angry mobs who want to decapitate you and stake you into your coffin? That's a struggle.

Well, vampire tales were orignally about hiding one's true sexuality, being gay, and the male lead in that looks like he can fit that bill.

I don't think they were specifically about being gay, but I do think when you look at vampire stories in the Victorian era when Dracula was written, it clearly was masked sexuality of some kind. It wasn't like today when you can blatantly publish porn. It had to be symbolic. But I also think the stories have always been about exploring the dark side of us, the beast within. Not to mention the lure of evil.

Suggested ban and just one unhelpful vote? So far not so bad of a response.

yeah if you haven't seen trueblood, it's worth seeing. We just finished season one and can't wait to see season two. We have it coming in netflix.

They don't do a terrible job of portraying louisiana and the main vampire in the first season came out attacking the "twilight vampires" and how they're quote"P***ies". It's a much dirtier take on vampires which I can respect.
