Can't wait for bow season to open. I really don't do much hunting early in the season like I used to. It's become more about camping in good weather with the kids and getting some squirrel in the freezer.

My son's football schedule is killing me. They're in the semifinals of the playoffs so play again this Saturday. If they win that they'll play next Saturday. I will not be really upset if they don't win. I'm ready to get in the stand.

Got a 10 for the freezer last weekend. Looks like we'll be eating well again this year. Need about 2 more in there to have plenty. Pic file is too large but it wasn't a huge 10 point by any means....just a nice mature buck.

I'll be concentrating on dispatching hogs this year. Scourge of the earth.
We're getting a few hogs here and there...mostly southern Ohio and seem to be as much rumor as reality. I'd love to be able to add pork to the freezer yearly although I know how much damage they do to habitat. So while I'd love to have a pork supply I'm careful not to wish them here.

After 4 years, I FINALLY got a deer tag. For a county 30 miles north of me. It was a second draw, so I got a game reduction tag for 2 antleress deer. It should fill the freezer and keep the dogs happy with lots of organ meat and bones. :)

I don't hunt - but I eat. My buddy just told me he and his son shot three last weekend and their freezer is already full . . . just in time for Thanksgiving!

27 were killed on my ranch last year, which has had a positive effect on the bucks seen this year on the property. Four have been killed so far: one cull and three 8-pointers.
