As much as it is that I know that Chauncey-Gardner was hated by some, it is guys like him who have the mental fortitude ball out when they play.

Moving forward, it would be great to see our player evaluators and scouts try harder to find these A-type personalities onto our team.

That, along with faster, bigger, and stronger.

I’ve really been trying to note the guys I see in Saturdays that resemble these types of players in the college ranks.

Anyine come to your mind so far this year?

I'm not quite understanding what you're referring to with CGJ. Dude can ball out but so can Lattimore and DD and others. If you're looking for the type of guy that the rest of the league loves to hate, Ie: talks a lot, annoys the other team, but backs it up, you can only have so many of those guys on one team. Like 1-2 imo.

Chauncey-Gardner has the mental fortitude to trash talk and be a clown after the whistle blows, but he is not that great of a player.

The last thing the Saints need, is more latent unsportsmanlike penalties waiting to be flagged.

We shipped off Gardner, we threaten Lattimore, we shipped off Hendrickson who's attitude is suspected of being hyper competitive, impatient and ambitious (all a-type personality attributes). Is it a coincidence? Is it possible Dennis Allen doesn't want a-type personalities as head coach?

idk. Maybe this is just an actual coincidence for once since we still have Demario Davis

I agree with the OP. We need players who have that DAWG in them and that goes for offense as well. I don’t mind quiet players, as long as their game is big…much like a TH7. That guy will run through a defense of 11, just to pick up one dang yard. However, just get the guys who want to rip your heart out and eat it in front of you.

Taylor is everything CJGJ is and a hell of a lot more without the attitude/mouth. You can have beast mode players without the bs that comes with CJGJ.

We kept the wrong player, when it comes to Hendrickson. Has nothing to do with is personality, it was a numbers game. He was an oft injured DE who didn't show much until his last year and that was too late at that point.

Flapping your lips after the whistle blows doesn't mean you're a dawg.

Neither Impatient or ambitious plays football.

What's with this hardon on "type-a personalities"? You really think there are a bunch of betas playing in the NFL?

And flapping your yap, I associate it with dogs that don't bite.

I’m definitely not advocating the trash before, during, or after.
What I’m referring to is the way he played for us during his time on our team. I guess I am remembering guys like Tommy Myers, Steve Stonebreaker, Vaughn Johnson, Sam Mills. I always loved the mentality of Marques Colston, and the tenacity of MT. I guess bottom line is there are so many X Saints we’ve shipped, off, who were great players, because of cap issues. It just seems hard to find high RAS, perfect character players that play with a chip.

I loved the draft Penning and it looks like it gonna prove he was a good move in the long run.

Geaux Saints
