Florida boat explosion (6 Viewers)

You can see that is a fuel dock. Cruisers like that with inboard or I/O engines are prone to collecting fumes in the engine compartment while refueling and can blow with any spark. They have vent fan systems but people sometimes forget to run them. That’s actually something that the fuel dock attendant should always remind the captain to do.

I’ve seen similar video in the past like that - though that one is pretty bad.

Thank you, I have learned something new.

I'll guess a motor fuel leak or possibly a propane leak.

Superchuck is right. The boat owner didn't run his ventilation fan for the engine compartment. If you own a gasoline powered inboard or inboard/outboard, you should always run the fan before starting an engine. Even if you are not fueling.

It’s why I’m opting for paddle-powered
