is there any chance that we will be getting NFL Network before the season starts... we're missing out on alot of stuff, not to mention the broadcasted games next season.. :covri:

I sent Cox an email the other day, and they said they had not word on when/if they would offer the NFL Network

I sent the email b/c on the NFL Network's site, it showed that BR gets NFL Network through Cox, but that's not the case.

i hate cox. my on demand hasn't worked for a year. it's ridiculous that they are the only cable service in New Orleans.

That was one definent plus of Houston, cheaper & more efficient cable service (i was amazed when i had to go in there to pick up stuff and it only took 5 minutes instead of 5 hours)

i pray for the day time warner (or whtever its called) buys them out....

well you need to sched a trouble call//easy fix

I e-mail constantly, but i'm not giving up. If they don't want to put nfl network on, I'll just keep aggravating them with e-mails and phone calls. Eventually they've got to get with the program.

i don't understand why COX leaves it to regional offices to decide whether or not to carry it. COX and NFL have a deal to air it, so every COX affiliate should carry it. It's just stupid.

I dont work for Cox, but I do work for a large cable company. And I just got out of a meeting where they said the NFL Network wants 2.5 million dollars a game, and there aint no way that they're signing that contract.

The good side is that most large cable companies said "no way" to those demands last year, so the NFL Network MAY come down some on their demands. So we'll see.

Ok, I talked to a couple of people at Cox not too long ago. Here's an email response from someone who works at Cox who has always helped me when I've had problems with my service. I asked him if he knew if/when Baton Rouge would get the NFL Network and his response was:

"Supposed to be before next season. They didnt want to spend a bunch of money for the last few games as they reached a deal late in the season."

This would explain why the NFL Network's homepage switched late in the season from "contact Cox to ask for NFL Network" to what it states now, that "Cox carries NFL Network in Baton Rouge." Hopefully we'll find out soon if we'll actually get this station this fall. I'll gladly trade in the Logo Network and all of the Spanish channels Cox added.
