I just watched a video on the running backs taken ahead of Kamara in the draft. I expected it to be similar to the one on Michael Thomas with only one receiver being even respectable and how teams screwed up by passing on MT. Instead it was a reminder of how many really good running backs were in that dreft. Very few are not on teams. Many are the feature backs on their teams. Chris Carson was 5 picks from Mr. Irrelevant:

Round 1:
Leonard Fournette (4)
Christian McCaffrey (8)

Round 2:
Dalvin Cook (41)
Joe Mixon (48)

Round 3:
Alvin Kamara (67)
Kareem Hunt (86)

D'Onta Foreman (89) free agent
James Conner (105)

Round 4:
Samaje Perine (114)
Tarik Cohen (119)
Joe Williams (121) free agent
Donnel Pumphrey (132) free agent
Jamaal Williams (134)
Wayne Gallman (140)
Marlon Mack (143)

Round 5:
Brian Hill (156)
Jeremy McNIchols (162) free agent
T.J. Logan (179)
Aaron Jones (182)

Round 6:
Elijah McGuire (188)
De'Angelo Henderson (203) free agent

Round 7:
Devante Mays (288)
Khalfani Muhammad (241)
Elijah Hood[(242) free agent
Chris Carson (249)
Matthew Dayes (252) free agent

Notable UDFA:
Austin Ekeler

Oh yeah. The video that sent me down this rabbit hole:

Wow.

Basically 13 starters (counting Gallman who’s started this season).....nearly half the league....got their starter from that one draft class.

Even those late round guys are good. Chris Carson has proven to be the man over a 2016 third round pick and a 2018 first round pick.

52 had three HoFers: Ollie, Gifford, and The King.

I think its more worth noting the teams that passed on AK for a player at a position of need over a great player despite need.

Still a pretty deep class all around.

That draft is crazy! I remember it being a good year for running backs, but seeing how many are not only starting, but doing really well is just unheard of for a single draft. Historic indeed.

That might go down as the best RB class of all time. It's rare to see that many guys pan out at the top of the draft. Of the first 8 RBs taken you'd be happy with 7 of them. Well, 6 considering Hunt's off the field stuff.

what I liked about that video is that it shows how the FO takes into account off the field issues when drafting & while not completely spotless (who is?), AK41's character is top notch...
