This tells me that Klint has his QB guy lined up but still respected and wanted RC. That’s why they offered him a different position instead of just firing him. Unfortunately for us he chose to leave instead of taking a “demotion”. Wish him luck. Appreciate his contributions to this team.

He understands the most direct route to OC is to remain as a QB coach.

If Allen in tandem with Brady and Curry rock an offense next year in Buffalo, Curry will be an OC by '25.

Do we know or have any clue on who Klint wants as QB coach? I don’t recall seeing any news about it.

People are saying his brother, Klay Kubiak, but I think it's all speculation and nobody I've seen say that is someone who would have actual sources.

But, the speculation makes some sense. Klay has been the assistant QB coach for the 49ers for two years. Before that he spent one year as a defensive quality control coach with the 49ers. The year before that, he was a head coach and offensive coordinator at a high school in Houston. It would be a step up, but the move would make some sense.

A new OC pretty much forced Curry out. PGC and QB coach are usually new faces with a new OC. Curry remained on staff up to this point through the OC search.

I think he’d still be here if he was offered to remain QB coach. It’s a step backwards in career trajectory to go back to his first position coach job with no input in the offense like he had as PGC and QB coach. No team’s staff is really worth reducing pay and opportunity for .
