Fuaga’s back injury is not as simple as we may think. (1 Viewer)

I am certainly no doctor but my experience has shown me that "tightness" in the back is not usually just a muscle issute. My guess is that when one has a back issue it may be a spinal issue. Spinal issues manifest themselves by muscle spasms. I hope I wrong and someone more knowledgeable than me can lend some clarification. Can his problems have come from "soft tissue" origins and not from a spinal/disc place?
The chances that this is simple back "tightness" is little and none. I'd put money down this will be lingering all season, and see lots of specialists after the season-NOT GOOD

I did not think this inquiry would result in the posted responses.

Well, you've been here since 2008 but your status says rookie. Just ignore these yahoos. Pretend they're your brother who thinks he knows everything. That's what I do. You think I hang around cos I like these guys? I'm not that pathetic.

My point is that purely muscle issues should be easily treated. I am soliciting better opinions than my own. I have no dog in the hunt. As a fan, I hope the guy has some cramps or mere spasms that are not serious. Being kept out of practice for a week may lead one to think it is more that just muscle issues. sorry if i offended anyone.
Personally? I think it's a valid discussion ... albeit about something that we don't want to discuss so that we can continue to lie to ourselves. What makes me think you may be onto something is that he hasn't practiced the last 2 days after having limited practice. It just seems a little more than just giving him rest days.

But I'm not a doctor.

ETA: Oh and as an annoying "sister", I was gonna ask you Fuaga Back is since you capitalized Back. But I didn't.

DA asked about if it was an ongoing thing for him in college, and whoever he asked said no.

Perhaps a backiotomy

He has had no previous issue of this in college. Let’s not real into this too much. Willie Gay had the same thing early in camp.

What drama here. If he tweaked his intercostals, they can remain stiff and tight and act up pretty easily for a long time. Also it’s very difficult to rest or let them magically heal as they are constantly being used. Or maybe it’s a tightness in the main muscles. Who knows. But when you’re an over 300 pound man who’s job requires him to be controlling during movement other 300 pound men, yeah the back can be an issue, can get tight and needs time to heal as that’s really the only thing that heals muscles. They just have to be careful as you don’t want muscle tightness to become something worse which will then put him out for a chunk of time.
