Saints First Round (13):
Andrus Peat, OT, Standford

"Peat is impressive on the hoof and has long arms, broad shoulders and good weight distribution with tree trunks for thighs... he gains an immediate advantage on his opponent with surprising quickness off the snap...it is almost unfair" - Rob Rang, CBSSports.com.

“That’s such a huge honor to play for the Saints and block for Drew Brees,” Peat said. “I grew up watching the Saints and him, and it’s pretty special to be playing with them. I’m excited to come in, work, and just get better as a football player.” - Andrus Peat Lucky No. 13: Peat fulfills goal with first round pick in NFL Draft - East Valley Tribune: Sports

Journey To The Draft: Andrus Peat - ESPN Video

Massive and surprisingly athletic, the game appears to come easily for Peat ... possesses the combination of length, balance and fluidity to remain outside at the next level.
Andrus Peat, OT, Stanford, NFL Draft - CBSSports.com - NFLDraftScout.com

Big and powerful with a right tackle's play strength and demeanor, but enough foot quickness to protect on the left side. Peat has the physical tools to be an upper-echelon run blocker with pass-protection ability, but he needs to improve his technique in order to protect with consistency. Peat has been well-coached and is one of the most game-ready offensive linemen in this year's draft.

Payton really does love prospects whose fathers played in the league, doesn't he?
