Do you think the Stay Puft company would have had to put out some sort of statement?

And do you think their marshmallow sales would have skyrocketed or cratered?

Yes, they would have definitely made a statement.

And it probably would have hurt their sales at first - then it might go the other way.

While I tend to loathe the concept of undercover marketing, I do appreciate the brands that have some 20something intern manning their social media accounts
I hope that if Ghostbusters had come out recently, they would have leaned all the way into the viral opportunity

My kids have been watching Young Sheldon and Annie Potts is the sassy grandmother.

Every time I see her my inner voice says “Ghostbusters - what do you want?!”

They would have gotten the Ghostbusters to endorse them, sales would have skyrocketed, until the new wore off.

So this is another marshmallow thread masquerading as a Ghostbusters thread.

Am I wrong or was Stay Puft not a real thing till after the movie?
