Good video on dome renovations (26 Viewers)

Yeah that winding ramp system used an insane amount of space in the floor plan. But dammit, my childhood would not have been the same without the races, games of touch football, and general shenanigans we would play going up and down those ramps. I've forgotten the games and events, but I remember running up and down those ramps, LOL.

The continued investment in the stadium should serve as an example of how to keep a facility updated and modernized without having to tear it down and build something else.

Also, does my memory deceive me or did Tom Benson one time float the idea of an open air/retractable roof stadium on the riverfront? I seem to recall seeing sketches of a facility design from probably 20-25 years ago or so.

So, game day is now just really about squeezing every centimeter out of a nickel and getting max profit. 🙄

Make your money people.

Sure seems like the good ole days are going, going, gone. Hoping watching from home doesn’t somehow get shaken down in the name of max return on investment

Reading this back to myself seems cynical - I am just feeling like man I want to go see my favorite team play and I am being stalked and hunted before I even purchase any tickets by the max profit, return on investment predator monster

I understand what you mean. It's not even about having dome field advantage of a packed Super Dome anymore, if it ever was. It's less about giving the most people the opportunity to buy a ticket and more about about profiting on a lower number of people by making it easier for them to spend more money. Alas it's what American society is about, profit over community every time.

They gave up a lot of functionality and convenience when they removed the ramps. I miss them.
