A couple things stood out as especially encouraging:

1. The Falcons did initially go conservative defensively once they got a 16-point lead. However, once NO made a couple plays, they switched back to what had been working. A couple other articles I’ve read made it seem like Atlanta stayed conservative and allowed Winston to pick them apart. That’s not really what happened.

2. Jameis was incredible on intermediate throws. That has been one of his supposed negatives and something he has worked on a ton. It showed in this game and could be a great sign moving forward.

Yeah I couldn’t believe they blitzed on that last play to leave the middle wide open for Johnson to exploit.

Best article I've read about the game and how and why things changed in the 4th quarter. One of the factors was the hurry-up offense, which I personally loved and hope they utilize more often for quick jump starts and momentum swings.

Love this last paragraph:

This tape study of Winston reminded me of the old NFL adages that well-coached teams make adjustments throughout a game, and veteran quarterbacks play their best in the fourth quarter. The Saints’ offensive line and Winston brought those two thoughts to life and lifted New Orleans to an unlikely 1-0 start.
