I am riding in a New Orleans parade this year...been a while.

Let me start off by saying, I understand the "depends on how you throw".

But let's just assume an "average" thrower, which means not throwing by the fistfuls every chance you get.

What is a realistic expectation on throws?

This is what i do have-
22 Gross of beads
360 plastic roses
2 dozen football
2 dozen light up roses
About 8 dozen or so of swords/wands
100 glow stick necklaces
500 glow stick bracelets
Roughly 30-40 plush animals
Gross of light up necklaces
And about 300 pieces of misc trinkets and such

Then a few odds and ends.

I feel like i just have WAAYYYY too much. But then on one hand i am being told make sure you have enough.

Any thoughts would be appreciated here....

Depends on length of route. Usually I measured in bags. Five to six large duffle bags plus spears and stuffed animals and doubloons covered me in Thoth when I rode.

I don't remember actual numbers when I rode in Bacchus a couple of times - but you have what you have right? I think you always throw what you have. If you're slim, you be more measured. If you're overloaded, you dump throws all night long. But it's certainly better to have too much than too little.

Unless you're talking about selling some of it back, just go with it.

I ride in Endymion. I try to have about 600 dozen beads and about 100 stuffed animals, a case of cups (250), and a couple packs of the glow necklaces. The glow necklaces I don't count because I crack them in packs of 50 and throw them 50 at a time.

Wow, I ride in Endymion as well... See if you can get some frisbees from the Krewe... those things are a blast to throw...you just need to pace yourself...

19th year riding.. I usually spend about $12 to 1500 on throws...

Dude, in the day of smart phones, do chick still do this? I swear i never see them any more on the route....

Smart phones and Girls Gone Wild ruined it for us... Not even close to what we saw in the 90's... the last 2 years I didn't see one....:jpshakehead:

Seeing just one might be ok, but they are better in pairs, I believe.
