They didn't blow the whistle. His forward progress was pretty clearly stopped for a while before the fumble.
I think it would still be up to the ref's discretion. And they would say his forward momentum was stopped. They didn't blow the whistle.
It doesn't matter.
It really is. They're changing all the time.I think it would still be up to the ref's discretion. And they would say his forward momentum was stopped.
But I dunno, it's hard to keep up with the rules.
They said DA sailed said the officials ruled forward progress was stopped. The ball was OUT with no whistle so In My Humble Opinion ( which I realize counts for nothing) it was a fumble and SAINTS recovery~! Sorry for the kid from Amite, LA but no one really explained why it wasn't that I heard and I was listening to WWL's broadcast~! Does ANYONE really KNOW what happened that play and would like to share? Pivotal point in the game I'd say...........
Had same question- ‘why was it not a fumble’Is that a fumble and recovery by the saints? Or because he was out the play is dead?
it absolutely matters. Review would not stand because forward progress would be called upon review. This has happened before, it will happen again. They didn't blow the whistle.
It doesn't matter.
OK~! I'll buy that argument as being worthy maybe but NOT valid, as the player's feet were still moving and he was fighting to gain ground.........Anyway, I do suppose you are correct and that must be what they called even though no one described it on the broadcast, really.........it absolutely matters. It's happened different times in Saints games before.. it's happened to the saints, and it's happened against the Saints. It's beyond valid because it happens all the time in the NFL. They didn't need to break it down like Madden, they said forward progress and moved on.OK~!
