Injury updates 8/22: Connelly, Graham, Lalos, Lattimore and others (1 Viewer)

Significant injury to a linebacker. Thank goodness we have so much depth there lol.

We get hit hard every single year with injuries…has to be a curse.
Connelly looked really active in the game Sunday - shame if his injury is significant. Might have been some depth and special teamer.

The Smith signing was sooo needed. I really don't know how that position group shakes out with Baun, Jackson, Sewell, Dowell, Orji, Anderson. I think that's the ranked order for who makes it.

Definitely seems to be an uptick in groin injuries. Wonder what’s going on there.

I usually agree with everything you say housecall and this is no different.

I was thinking the same about connelly and this could be the saints way of putting him on IR and hold onto him. He looked pretty good out there.

Dowell is on IR, out for the year. Now that Connelly is going to be out for a period of time, we really need Baun to step up or one of the other young LB'ers. I'm sure glad we signed Jaylon Smith.

What the heck are they doing with all the groin injuries? They gotta be doing something wrong. Sheesh!

Not sure I want to know.
Have you ever played a sport or made an explosive move in your life? 9/10 its just tightness and they sit out as a precaution, they have a regular season to prepare for, they still get film work, weight training and rehab on the side of the field, everybody is participating whether on the field or on the sideline.

Baun is on the last year of his contract with no guarantees remaining, it wouldn’t be the biggest surprise if he gets cut.

Baun will have a similar season to Ellis playing in those third down pass rush packages and base formations where he is playing against the run and short pass defense.

Ellis was counted out because he did not fit well in the 4-2-5 defense, basically because the SAM spot was null and void but they found a way to use his skillset and he earned a contract with the Falcons, Baun has the same ability as Ellis and will be used the same.

Acute groin injuries may result from direct trauma encountered in contact sports (eg, football, ice hockey, basketball, rugby, soccer) and noncontact sports (eg, gymnastics). Acute muscle strains are commonly encountered in activities in which forced adduction of the hip occurs (eg, soccer, football, rugby, ice hockey, swimming [particularly with the breaststroke]) or in activities in which forced abduction of the hip occurs (eg, any sporting activity in which the athlete may perform a split, either accidentally or forcefully).
