A lot of teams have made bad Head Coaching hires based on the guys ability to pander to their current QB. It's never worked out.

24-38 as a head coach. Atleast I know the falcons will be bad the next 3 years. Incase the saints makes a move next year. We will still have time.

There’s some context there…he was saddled by management forcing one of the worst QBs in the league on him. Led them to a 10-6 season in one of those years though.

I think he's defending hiring a defensive coach instead of one of the young hot shot OCs like is the current trend in the NFL for the last several years.
