Dec 28, 2010 - Drew Brees led the Saints to a comeback victory in Atlanta last night, and when he stopped for his post-game interview, he looked like exactly what he's become: a gosh darned American hero. As I wrote this summer, he's the coolest player in the coolest sport in America.
When Michelle Tafoya asked him what it was like to be under duress all night long, he shrugged, smiled, and said, "You know, that's part of it ... Sometimes you get a clean pocket, sometimes, you know, they're gettin after ya." Pssh... Don't you see? Drew's going to kick *** regardless.

Fun and interesting article...but I really don't know how to take it.

Drew is the man...but please don't compare him to Favre (or Favre of the last few years).

He has been favre-esque this season but it could just be an anomaly

We can only hope.

People lose sight of the fact that, despite all of the media attention, hype, retirement watches, trips to Hattiesburg, etc.. he is one of (if not the) greatest QBs of all time and played year in and year out at a top 5 level for about 17 years.. What wouldn't we give to see Brees play at his current level or only slightly below for a whole other decade?

Farve took his team to 2 SB's and 5 championship games. He almost certainly would have another championship or two if GB would have bothered itself to have had a better defense around the turn of and early part of this decade.

how many of those championship games did he lose because of an Interception

another point and reason I hope this isn't the case
Brett holds the record for most interceptions
Brees doesn't want that record

Interceptions cost him dearly the playoffs and almost cost us the game last night in what was a playoff type atmosphere

i almost drank my 14th irish car bomb.... but i didnt. drew and i are 2 peas in a pod.

He lost two of them by way of picks. At 38 and 40.

Not to excuse it, but I only hope Brees is playing at a high enough level to get us to the final four 7-9 years from now. That would give us a lot to look forward to.

We can wish that Brees can be as durable as Favre, but stay as accurate as Brees.

IMO, Drew is the better passer, but is borderline overconfident out there...like Favre was/is.

I'd rather not see us lose playoff game after playoff game on the strength of fantastically arrogant 3+ INT performances.

You can have your Brett Favre. I'll take Elway, Brady, or Montana.

I'd sooner Drew be the next Joe Montana than the next Favre. Having said that I'm perfectly happy with him being the first Drew Brees.
