Apparently there is a preliminary agreement between the Jaguars and the city of Jacksonville on building a new stadium, though there are political and legal hurdles that still need to be overcome. The capacity will be 63,000 (though it can be expanded somehow to 71,500 for the Georgia-Florida game).

It will be an outdoor stadium--but with a translucent covering of some kind that is supposed to reduce the temperature by as much as 15 degrees (I have no idea how this works).

The estimated cost is $1.4, which seems too low. Atlanta's stadium, built years ago, cost $1.6, the Nashville stadium is supposed to run $2.1, the Las Vegas stadium ran $1.9, and the palace in Los Angeles ran $5.5.

I guess this tables the assumption that they would be moving the team to a European homestead. If the league keeps all its teams stateside that almost guarantees an increase of overseas games to satisfy that market. Kinda sucks since it will be robbing fans of games unless they increase every team by 1 game which will be the overseas one.

Yea, I’m not sure where I stand on the international market moving forward. I know it makes business sense, but so many other things to consider as well.

Apparently it is a renovation--with a 30-year lease. I am surprised the owner is going for this. I would have thought that he would have demanded a new stadium, and seeing resistance, he would moved the team to London.

That's the point of the 17-game season. It's eventually supposed to be 8 home, 8 away, and 1 international.

Nope. The point is regular season games sell better than preseason. Eventually they’re going to an 18 game season. And I’m ready to get rid of that 3rd preseason game.

I have no problem with an 18 game season, as long as they add a 2nd bye week!

If they do they’ll just push the Super Bowl back another week. They don’t seem to have any interest in starting the season the same week as college.
