Jake Haener posts picture of Gruden visiting Saints players on day before final game (merged) (4 Viewers)

I don't see young fresh coaches going to SBs outside McVay and Taylor. Shanahan is about his father's age in his prime. And Gruden was younger by about ten years in the late 90s/00s. A young immature coach is not going to straighten our players out.

Yea I don’t buy that at all. Ive seen coaches lose with great rosters. Gruden built a SB team in Oak, then played against it and won a Super Bowl. And when he went back to the Raiders, they were winning, 3-2 (then he had to resign) but they still made the playoffs, because of the culture he left behind. The Saints are about as interesting as shredded wheat, nationally. (Not even frosted) Chucky is from the same cloth as Sean Payton and Andy Reid. And he’s available. As far as the name calling, emails, I don’t care. I was all in on Watson, I only care about the Saints getting back to competing at a high level.
I care about emails, but hey, that's just me. I'll give you the Oakland years with Gannon in the 90s. He's overrated by far.

A couple years ago.i never would of thought Chuckie would be associated in any way with the Saints. Yet here we are.

Not even frosted had me rolling lol.
Can he play safety?
Or maybe one of the other positions we’re in dire need of help, like:
Guard
Defensive tackle
Edge
Inside linebacker
Outside linebacker
Tight end
Wideout
Corner.

Loomis needs to pick the right coach this time, or he will be viewed as incapable of building a team without the help of Sean Payton. He missed horribly on the Dennis Allen hire, but he was trying to keep the winning culture that was established going. This time around he has to hit it out the park or his legacy will be a poor one. We all have to hope he chooses a successful coach.

This was not a topic I payed much attention to when it was happening. What exactly did Gruden say that constituted his banishment? I googled it but didn’t really see anything that would keep him from being a coach again. Is this another one of those “cancel culture” things with things being interpreted incorrectly, or did his words justify the retribution?

With Gannon at QB, they had a .625 win percentage and were never worse than 8th in points or yards on offense.

Loomis needs to be replaced and let the new GM build this team.
