NFL Draft QB Jalen Milroe’s development? [April 7: Saints worked out Jalen Milroe] [Seahawks draft Milroe in 3rd round, pick #92] (4 Viewers)

And I know some people talk about how he could be a Taysom type player, but I'd rather have Riley Leonard for that role and you could take him WAY later. The guy had almost as many rushing TDs as passing TDs for Notre Dame.
Point about where they could be drafted is probably on point, but Taysom is Riley Leonard with Jalen Milroe's athleticism. Neither could replace Taysom. He's 1-of-1...

I'm not familiar with his history, but he doesn't seem ready to be an NFL quarterback. Maybe it's the coaching change, but Tua and Bryce were light years ahead in terms of passing abilities.
Yeah i don't see it with him, he is the weakest QB Alabama has had for while. He seems like a lesser talented version of Bryce Young. Young might turn out to be decent. But that is not what the Saints need at QB. A decent qb gets a team nowhere but mediocrity in the NFL.

His final 8 games of the year Milroe only threw 6 TD passes. That is not production that indicates someone will be a star NFL player.

Most of them do not beat you from the pocket though they beat you off of broken plays and improvising is it still passing yes but none of those guys are picking you apart like tom Brady Peyton manning or Phillip rivers
Mahomes is the closest and often times his best plays are not in the pocket he makes smart plays he’s very accurate but his legs play a huge part in his game

He may not pass as well as those guys but that’s why you get him talent like Jeanty to carry the load
All of them can beat you from the pocket.

Now this is something that I can get down with. I was starting to get annoyed that our name was not linked to him. If we are in the QB market, like CKM has said, then we should be working out all of the darn QBs. There should be no good reason why we would gladly pass up on a talented son of a gun like Jalen, only for another team to have the right to take him easily. Funk that, if the Steelers want him so bad, then offer something to us.

Taysom Hill Replacement…
Nah, I want him and TH7 on the field at the same time. We didn’t get to finish our “Bully Ball” that we started last year. I want the new upgraded version

And before some of yall try and take credit for that, just know that I see yall posting my creations on Twitter. Be original you dang goobers. Always biting someone’s style

I love Bully Ball. Dudes quit when they are being bullied, they don't quit against finesse teams.

Dude is the kind of player that will work to improve on his game. He already has weapons for legs and that already makes him dangerous. If he could become a viable passer, then the sky is the limit. I’d take him
Now, you know I'm very open minded about your almost universal love for offensive prospects, but saying the above feels like saying 'Beautiful Corvette, fabulous body, sumptuous interior and a lovely steering wheel. If it only had an engine, then the sky is the limit. I'd take it'.

I mean, if you ignore the primary purpose of a thing when assessing that thing, are you meaningfully assessing it at all? 😉

I definitely understand this sentiment, I really do. Hell, I am a guy that has expressed that the three most important positions on the field are QB, LT, and C many times, so I get it.

What I don’t understand though is the idea that who the team picks in round 1 of one single draft is going to suddenly create the engine.

We have to upgrade all parts over the next 2-3 years. The order in which it’s done is dictated by the quality level of the parts that are available and when.

There’s an entire draft this year, post-draft free agency, then another free agency period next year and another draft next year. We aren’t just drafting for the 2025 season and have many needs, and if the mere position we choose to pick with our first round pick in 2025 is the difference between us becoming a successful team or not, then we are already doomed.
