I just found out something interesting that I never knew, but did everyone on here know that Branch was the 2003 Walter Payton award winner with 2,326 yards and 29 tds. I have never heard this reported and I just thought it was interesting. I was telling my co-worker to watch out for him if he gets any significant playing time.

My ideal situation for this Sunday: Jamal Branch runs for 110 yards and a touchdown in the second half after our starters spot us a 21-3 halftime advantage. Saints win 35-10. Delhomme knocks out Keyshawn on the sidelines after Johnson complains about not getting the ball following Jake's 3rd pick.

That would make my 2006 complete.

We've got a way to go before my season is complete. (win the next 3 games) :gosaints:

I believe he said make his 2006 complete. If that was the last thing I saw this year, my year would be complete as well. As for those other games, they fall in 2007, and winning the next FOUR games would probably be better for those who want a superbowl victory.

Ding ding ding. :ezbill:

Where do you get his stats for preseason?

Good question. Here are the Saints preseason stats:

It's as if Branch never existed. Weird. :dunno:

Have to go to the individual "game-centers" to see his game stats:

at Tenn: 0
vs Dal: rush 11-40, 1 TD; rec 2-46
vs Indy: rush 3-33; rec 2-25
at KC: rush 14-51, 1 TD; 2-16

I'm writing a column in the Deseret about this.....

I think Jamaal Branch should have been on the active roster long before this week. We need another running back in the mold of Deuce on the active roster in case Deuce goes down (God forbid). Stecker has not been returning kickoffs at all and catches about 1 pass per game for minimal gain lately. I hope Branch has a great showing Sunday so that he will be on the active roster for the playoffs.

Wahoo and jlam, I don't know why Branch's stats for the first game against Tenn were omitted, but he had 11/47 rushing and 1/24 receiving.

As I recall, Payton implied something to the effect of "hiding" Branch on the practice squad... (we were all worried that he and Haas were going to get snapped up almost immediately after they were put ont the PS. We should be grateful that he didn't...)

i didn't know that, but i do know that i was *very* impressed with him during preseason...
